Mannie was born on 15th May at Millfield Stud in Freuchie and was bred by Bill Allan. The same year Corrie had a good colt foal which we called Eros and when we showed him at the Winter Fair I was approached later on by Bill to see if I would consider swopping him for one of his. Tim and I visited Bill and chose Mannie. Like all of our ponies Mannie also has a superb temperament and fits in well with the "herd". I deliberately left him alone allowing him time to grow up and it was only in 2000 that I began to break him properly. I did sit on his back as a three year old but that was all. However I am pleased to say that he is progressing very well and is walking out with Mhairi with me riding her and leading him. Unfortunately, due to an accident when he was a foal Mannie is not suitable for showing but will hopefully be an excellent riding pony. To date we have had front shoes on him and lead him out with saddle and bridle on along side Mhairi with me riding her and Tim walking JUST IN CASE! So far he hasn't put a foot wrong.
