Yellow Dun Mare Born April 1993 Sire: Viscount of Whitefield Dam:Julie of Lundie
Midge was born on 12th April and I was delighted with what I saw - a beautiful compact filly foal and YES it looked as if she was yellow dun! She was unbeaten as a foal and managed to win her class at the Royal Highland and also was Champion Foal at Kinross Show and the Winter Fair. Midge has always been a consistent winner winning numerous 1st Prizes and Championships and again winning at the Royal Highland as a 2yr old, 2nd as a 3yr old and was 1st Prize Mare in 2000 in the Yeld Mare Class. Midge has had two foals a filly in 1999 by Glen Aigas and a colt in 2001 by Tarka of Orangefield. She was in foal again but in November 2001 she caught pneumonia and unfortunately aborted. Neither the vet nor ourselves had any idea why she caught pneumonia and we'll never know whether the pneumonia made her abort or whether the foal wasn't right and gave her pneumonia. The main thing is that Midge is very well herself now and we look forward to breeding her to Tarka again.
