Rannoch of Achnacarry

Light Mouse Dun colt Born April 2001 Sire: Tarka of Orangefield Dam: Midge of Achnacarry

Rannoch was born on 18th April at Pitmenzie and this time we were just as excited because he was the first foal by Tarka. Once again we were not disappointed as he is a very strong colt with lots of presence, has good furnishings and looks as if he will be bigger than his half sister. He is a lighter mouse dun but it looks as if Midge may be prone to throwing mouse duns, which we don't mind in the slightest. Again because of foot and mouth he was out at only two shows, Blair Atholl and The Scottish Farmer Show at Devon Leisure. He wasn't lucky at Blair Atholl but was 1st Prize Foal at The Scottish Farmer Show at Devon Leisure. He continues to thrive and our plans for 2002 will be a few shows and perhaps The Royal Highland Show. We will probably keep him entire until then and depending on the demand will leave him for a bit or have him gelded.
