Dark Grey Mare Born April 1991 Sire: Darrochdene Dam:Ailsadene
Skye was born on 6th April at Easter Aldie farm Fossoway the home of Mrs Heather Turnbull. The reason she and her mother were there was because Tim had been out in Nepal with the Army for a year and Ailsa was kept at livery and was covered by Darrochdene producing while Tim was away a colt foal called Turcon . She was put back in foal and produced Skye and again was covered by Darrochdene and produced Craigiebrig Iona the following year. Skye was shown lightly winning 4th Prize as a foal at the Royal Highland and since has won several 1st prizes in hand and under saddle. In 1998 she was 2nd Prize Yeld Mare entered in the Ridden Class at the Royal Highland. Skye is quite a character being a very fizzy ride always going everywhere in a hurry!! We hope to breed from her but haven't had much success so far perhaps because she has always been a ridden pony. Perhaps she's not too keen in having a foal! However we have chosen a nice mate for her so -----watch this space!
