Julie or "Teenie" as she is affectionately known was born on the 31st July and was bred by the late P A Arbuckle of Lundie Castle Dundee. I bought her at the Dispersal sale at Perth Market in 1981 when she was 8 months old. All the ponies from the Lundie & Gowrie Studs and also Campsie Stud were dispersed together as Alston Arbuckle and Sandy Wright died within weeks of each other. Teenie's dam made the top price in the sale. I didn't show Teenie much as a yearling or two year old as she was a late foal and took a while to develop. However as a three year old she was unbeaten at the local shows and thrilled me to bits when she won her class at the Royal Highland Show and went on to be Reserve Female Champion. Her other claim to fame was winning the St John's Wells Competition with Kyle of Gowrie in 1988. I didn't show her again that year. Teenie has had several Championships and Reserve Championships and has bred some lovely foals, which have all gone on to win Championships either for us or for their owners. She is still alive and well but is now retired although she takes her occasional duties as Nannie very seriously!
