Through no fault of his own AIGAS OF ACHNACARRY is for sale.
Aigas is a 2 year old colt that we sold to Jane Dawson who lives on Islay. He was sold as a weaned foal. Aigas was kept as a potential stallion but as Jane now has various young stallions and an older stallion Aigas has become surplus to requirements. He is therefore for sale....... His Sire is: Tarka of Orangefield : who we have here at Pitmenzie. He is by Arran of Orangefield out of Feolin of Orangefield. Tarka has sired prize winning stock and although only shown three times in his life has more than proved himself. Aigas' Dam is: Rowan of Achnacarry : (By Glen Aigas x Midge of Achnacarry) Rowan has won numerous Championships both in hand and under saddle and this year she was Reserve Female Champion at The Royal Highland Show at Ingliston. Although Aigas will not reach any more than 13.3hh he moves well and carries valuable bloodlines as well as being a traditional Highland Pony. He should excell in any sphere, either as an Entire or as a ridden pony. Below are a few pictures of him as a foal and as he is now. PLEASE NOTE THAT FERGIE HAS BEEN SOLD. WE NOW ONLY HAVE TORRANACH FOR SALE AGED 11 MONTHS.
Please note Torranach has now been gelded and a few additional pictures have been added below. These were taken in June 09. Torranach has been well handled and is very good with the farrier. He has been wormed regularly and is turning into a lovely pony.
Fergie of Achnacarry..Foaled in May 2008 so is approximately almost 9 months old. He is by Rannoch of Achnacarry and is out of Fhuaran of Orangefield. He is a big boned foal, well grown with a superb temperament. Although quite dark in colour at the moment , he will be grey eventually. He has been well handled, wormed, microchipped and vaccinated for tetanus. Below are a couple of early pictures of him. Once the weather improves I shall add some more! The second colt was born later on 6th August 2008. His dam is Mhairi Bhan of Achnacarry and his sire is Tarka of Orangefield. This is a very stylish colt....Cream dun at the moment and should stay cream for a few years. He has a small, pretty head with excellent conformation and should excell in any sphere. He has great presence and is a superb mover, therefore should excell as a ridden pony. He is also good enough as a potential stallion. He is called Torranach of Achnacarry. Below are a few pictures.
